Your Introduction to UCCA

Again, welcome to Upstate Carolina Counseling Associates!

Deciding to work with a therapist is likely one of the most important decisions you will ever make—but so too is choosing the right therapist. So, we want to make the experience as easy as possible by providing all the information you need to know.

Here's what you can learn at our online office:

Methodologies

You should know the methodologies a therapist uses and have a basic understanding what they aim to achieve.

Compatibility

Most therapies are dependent on the quality of communication you have with your therapist and the therapeutic relationship you create with them. To better insure such an environment can develop, you should know a therapist's therapeutic philosophy and the approach they have developed to create your counseling experience.

Meet Your Therapist

Meeting in person or by teleconference is by far the best way to really get to know your therapist. However, you can get all the information you need

to make your choice right here by visiting the “Our Therapists” section of our online office. It's where you will discover what each of our counselors and social workers do and how they can help you.

From there, you can access each therapist’s “Learn More About Me” page to get a more in-depth idea of their specializations, their therapeutic philosophy, and their approach to creating your counseling experience.

Grow Your Knowledge

You can always return to this page where you will find information that explains many of the principles, practices, and terminology our therapists use and specialize in. For example, try the search function below by entering "SFBT" (solution-focused brief therapy) to see how easy it is.

About Us

Lastly, don't forget to check out the "About Us" page. It's where you will meet the founder of UCCA to learn the story of how and why we are here to serve you and all the people of our great community.
