Matt has been working with children, teens, and adults, as a counselor since 2009. In addition to private counseling, he also has counseling experience in public school, physical rehab facilities, and skilled nursing settings.
His work with children and teens includes helping with anxiety, depression, family separation and structural changes, grief, bullying, and self-harm. His work with adults includes helping with anxiety, depression, grief, family changes, and men’s issues.
In addition, he has experience in working with elderly individuals as a social worker, in a skilled nursing facility, helping residents (and family members) deal with illness and end of life struggles. He has also worked with adults in inpatient and outpatient facilities facing difficulties in the areas of emotional stress, addiction, physical injury and rehab, and trauma.
Matt approaches counseling from a cognitive and systems perspective and focuses on analyzing thoughts, feelings, and choices, as well as relationships, communication skills, coping skills, and expressive techniques with children.
